Android Developer Console gets Multi-user Access

As you are reading this article, there is an on-going wave of people logging in to various forums, gaming sites, and news blogging sites with their Google accounts. However, if you were a developer for apps for either iOS or Android, you would only be provided with one username login and password to access the good information and accurate statistics provided within not to mention to upload a build for your app.

All that has changed for Android developers for whom Google have recreated the system with its announcement of multi-user access for its Android Developer Console. According to the Android team responsible for this change of infrastructure Android has noticed that the developers were releasing more and more successful apps and over time, teams have needed to add people to help with the workload.

They also agree that sharing passwords is generally a bad idea and came up with the idea of allowing one user name and password for the ‘account owner’ who will be the only one that can manage access to the Console but he can email invitations to anyone and upon accepting the invitation, the recipients would need to use their Google account to log in.

With this tweak in place, app developers will not have to worry about accidental changes to their application on Google Play such as price changing or in the worst case scenario, accidental removal of the app from the Store. This is a change yet to be seen for iOS developers and will probably trigger an outcry on their side.
