Microsoft confirms NFC support in Windows Phone 7

NFC is a standard that some industries are attempting to standardize, such as Google with their Google Wallet mobile payment services and ISIS, who has teamed up with Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile to provide mobile payment services of their own. The good news for those who think that NFC will be the standard in the future is that Microsoft has confirmed that their Windows Phone 7 platform does come with support for NFC, but ultimately the decision as to whether to include NFC in Windows Phone devices rests solely on the manufacturers.

Unfortunately as most of you guys might be aware by now, there has yet to be a Windows Phone device that comes with support for NFC, but will that change in the future? That remains to be seen and we guess it’s really all about supply and demand here. Are any of you guys out there particularly rooting for NFC support or is it a feature that you wouldn’t mind having, but wouldn’t really care if it wasn’t available?
