Android 4.0 port for Droid RAZR in the works

Published

on

We know that Motorola has plans to update their recent Droid RAZR to Android 4.0, but unfortunately we have no release date, at least not a specific one, and knowing companies and carriers, we could be seeing the update a lot later than expected. The good news is that a developer has decided to take matters into his own hands by creating an Android 4.0 ROM for the Droid RAZR.

Thanks to DroidTh3ory, the Android 4.0 ROM is currently being worked on. He has managed to get it to boot so far and it will even dual-boot both Android 2.3 and Android 4.0 alongside each other. Unfortunately it does not appear that the ROM is currently available for public consumption as a lot of features and functions do not work properly at the moment.

If you’re interested in helping out with the development of this ROM or you want to keep track of its progress, you can find the thread here with some information regarding the progress. In the mean time you can check out the video below for a demonstration of Android 4.0 running on the Droid RAZR.
