US judge thinks injunction unnecessary against Samsung (vs Apple)

With Apple already landing victories against Samsung in Australia and the Netherlands, it looks like they may be trying their luck in the US with a lawsuit that they filed earlier in the year. It seems that the judge presiding over the case is leaning towards Apple, claiming that while there were some patent infringements by Samsung, it would be hard for Apple to prove that in the court.

Judge Lucy Koh also denied requests by Apple to issue a temporary injunction as she felt that it wasn’t urgent enough to warrant a temporary ban. It was been reported that in court, the judge held up both the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and iPad over her head, each in one hand, and it apparently took a while for Samsung’s attorney’s to figure out which was which, causing the company some embarrassment.
