Motorola announces ET1 tablet for enterprise users

While the Motorola Xoom tablets have been catered for the consumer market in mind, Motorola has not forgotten its enterprise users and has unveiled the Motorola ET1 tablet, which has been designed for use in businesses. The tablet will feature a 1GHz dual-core processor, a 7” touch screen display, and 8GB of internal storage that can be expanded by an additional 32GB thanks to a microSD card slot.

While the tablet is expected to cost less than $1,000, which seems rather expensive, Motorola has said that unlike consumer grade tablets, this tablet has been built to be rugged, meaning it should be able to withstand the abuse of daily use for a good 3-5 years. It will run on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3 and will come with a host of features that they expect many retail stores to find invaluable. Shipments are expected to start in December.
