Amazon Kindle Fire reaches 250,000 pre-orders in 5 days

A few days ago we reported that Amazon’s Kindle Fire tablet had hit close to 100,000 pre-orders on its first day. Many had claimed it would prove to be a competitor to Apple’s iPad, and while it fell short of the iPad’s 350,000 mark, it looks like they are playing catch up pretty successfully.

According to a leaked screenshot (as pictured above) that supposedly shows the number of orders that have been placed for the Kindle Fire, apparently the Kindle Fire has managed to rack up a little over 250,000 pre-orders in just five days. At the rate it’s going, we expect the numbers to keep rising until its launch in November. So far so good Amazon!
