While Japan may already have the first Windows Phone 7 Mango handset, the rest of the world is still eagerly awaiting the update, but as to when remains to be seen, although it now appears that Eric Hautala, who is the General Manager for Customer Experience Engineering at Microsoft, has announced on the Windows Phone blog that users should be able to expect the update to hit in the next week or two.

He avoided mentioning any specific dates which is fair enough considering that there could be unforeseeable delays, but in a fortnight, Windows Phone users can check the “Where’s My Phone Update” page to see when the update will hit, on which carrier and on which handset.
