Phone covers/cases are usually created mainly to protect our devices from scratches. They vary in degree of protection – some are able to withstand high drops while others provide minimal protection with the main emphasis being on its design/looks. NTT DoCoMo in Japan has revealed a trio of smartphone covers that go beyond just protection of the device.

The company revealed three smartphones covers that are able to detection radiation levels, your body fat and muscle bulk and last but not least, a phone cover that will be able to measure alcohol content, which is great especially a night after partying and you want to see if you or your friend are in any condition to drive!

The sensors are built into the cases with the smartphone serving as the interface and displaying the information. We’re guessing that there are accompanying apps as well. No word on how much they will cost or if they will be made available outside of Japan.
