Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray spotted at the FCC

A while back we reported that the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray could be seeing an August 15th release date in the UK, well now it looks like for those back in the States eager to get their hands on the device, the wait might not be so long after all.

It seems that the Xperia Ray has recently been spotted at the FCC and with Sony Ericsson giving the device a Q3 release date, perhaps a release date around mid-August or September might not be so far fetched after all. Of course this is just speculation at best, but good to know that the device has made the FCC at least, which means it’s just a couple steps away from making it into the hands of eager customers.

For those who forgot, the Xperia Ray will feature an 8.1MP camera along with a 3.3-inch display that is powered by the mobile Bravia engine (similar to the Xperia arc). It will be running on a 1GHz processor and will feature the latest Android Gingerbread 2.3 operating system.
