The Samsung Galaxy S was a hit, and the Samsung Galaxy S II is no different. In fact the Galaxy S II managed to ship out more units than the Samsung Galaxy S, and now it looks like the Galaxy S II has managed 3 million units sold in 55 days. It’s not really surprising as the Galaxy S II is a powerhouse of a device. Now if the calculations are correct, that would mean that one Samsung Galaxy S II is being sold every 1.5 seconds! That would mean by the time it takes for you to finish reading this post, about 5 Samsung Galaxy S II units could have been sold already.

What’s even more surprising is that these numbers are achieved without US support, as the Galaxy S II has yet to hit the US market. However even if it were to make it to the US market, the Apple-Samsung patent lawsuit could affect the sales, especially if the lawsuit ends in favor of Apple, which may result in Samsung having several of their units pulled off the shelves. Either way, congratulations to Samsung for putting out such an amazing device, let’s hope that those living in the States will be able to get their hands on an amazing piece of hardware that the rest of the world has been enjoying for the past couple of months.
