Microsoft “Flattered” By Apple’s iOS 5

As far as the iOS 5 critics are concerned, iOS 5 is in no way new or revolutionary. In fact several people have pointed out that there are certain features that have been ripped off from developers or other platforms, namely Android. Joe Belfiore who is the director of the Windows Phone program tweeted saying “Feeling flattered today. Lots of great WP ideas headed to iOS. (Camera button/above lock, auto-upload of pics, better notifications … )”.

It’s rather ironic considering when Microsoft released Windows Vista Apple claimed that Microsoft had copied ideas from their Mac OS X and used it in Vista, but I guess now the tables have turned. Microsoft and Apple have been long standing rivals especially in the glorious days of “I’m A Mac” advertisements. If anything perhaps this might be bringing some attention to Windows Phone 7 especially for those who are curious as to what Apple may or may not have copied from the Microsoft mobile platform.
