iPhones Rank In Middle For Radiation Emissions

Published

It seems that the whole radiation and cell phone debate is back as a recent study conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO).  Turns out that there was sufficient evidence to categorize exposure to cell phone radiation as “possibly carcinogenic to humans”.

If that sounds bad then perhaps you should switch over to the iPhone as it seems that the iPhone 4 is somewhere in the middle, rated as 1.17 watts per kilogram, while the iPhone 3GS is at 1.19 watts per kilogram. In fact the older iPhone 3G came in at a rating of 1.03 watts per kilogram. These are quite low compared to certain Motorola phones.

The Motorola Bravo came in at 1.59 watts per kilogram, only a 0.1 watts away from the FCC limit. The Motorola Droid 2 Global came in at 1.58 watts per kilogram. While these numbers are kind of disturbing, it’s good to know that iPhone users can feel somewhat “safer”.
