Are Tablet Manufacturers Slowing Down Production?

Published

on

A recent report by JPMorgan Chase’s analyst Mark Moskowitz has suggested that other tablet manufacturers are starting to cut back on their tablet productions because they feel that they cannot compete with Apple’s iPad 2. Manufacturers such as Samsung, Motorola and ASUS have reportedly cut back their production by at least 10% since March, due to the demand for their tablets such as the Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab, ASUS Eee Pad Transformer and the Blackberry Playbook have been lagging, while demand for the iPad 2 remains strong, despite all the news about supply shortages and problems that have been plaguing their LCD screens and not to forget, the recent Foxconn factory explosion.

Considering that Nokia had recently said that this year we would be seeing 201 new tablet devices, it does sound rather odd that despite all the new tablets that are being pushed to the market, that manufacturers are instead cutting back on production.
