A little less than a week ago Microsoft announced that Acer would be one of its new partners for their Windows Phone 7 devices and now at Computex it seems that Acer wasted no time in showing off their brand new Windows Phone 7 handset, the Acer W4.

For those interested or who can’t really make out the details in the photo of the device above, the Acer W4 will be featuring a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 Snapdragon processor, a 3.5-inch WVGA capacitive screen sporting a 480 x 800 resolution, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, quad-band GSM support and a 5MP camera and come along with 8GB of internal storage. No word on whether this is expandable through microSD cards or if it will be fixed like iPhone devices.

Software wise the Acer W4 will most probably be launched Windows Phone 7’s Mango update that should bring a lot of new features and functionality to the device, hopefully putting it on par with iOS and Android devices. Word has it that the Acer W4 will come with an affordable price tag which could be good news for those who are looking for a rather inexpensive way to try out Windows Phone 7 devices.
