Amazon Following Trade-In Trend

So not only has T-Mobile decided to start accepting trade-ins for your old legacy phones but now it seems that Amazon has jumped on board that idea, expanding their trade-in program to now accept mobile devices such as cell phones, smartphones, GPS units, tablets, cameras, and MP3 players.

If you are a customer and you wish to trade in your used electronics, all you would need to do is fill out a form on Amazon’s website, indicate the condition of the device, print out a pre-paid shipping label and send it to Amazon. Amazon will then inspect the item(s) and deposit money into the user’s account which will be in the form of a gift card. If however Amazon isn’t interested in your item, Amazon will then send the item back to you within two weeks.

I think trade-in programs are great, not only do you get some form of subsidy towards your next purchase but instead of having a pile of out of date gadgets lying around the house collecting dust, you are giving them to a company that could perhaps find a better use for it, or perhaps even recycle the gadgets and save the environment.
