Amazon’s Rumored “Entire Family” of Android Devices

Published

on

Earlier there was some talk whereby Amazon’s CEO had dropped hints with regards to Amazon coming out with an Android tablet of their own. It seems that was rather inaccurate because instead of just one Android tablet, it looks like Amazon will be going about creating an “entire family” of Android devices, scheduled for a 2011 holiday arrival. Considering Amazon’s Android appstore is doing quite well for themselves it only makes sense that they would try to capitalize on it further by releasing their own branded Android devices.

There have been some speculation as to what version of Google’s Android will they be running on. Some have said that it might very well be Gingerbread 2.3 while others have speculated that it could very well Ice Cream Sandwich instead. If Amazon is starting to release a batch of Android devices will they be starting to shift their focus away from Kindle and what would the incentive to buy a Kindle be if that were to happen? Could you see yourself buying an Amazon branded phone?
