What do you think Microsoft will be up to at next week’s Mobile World Congress? Since we won’t be playing with the company’s NoDo update just yet, reports are in that we might get some additional details about Mango, the first major update for the Windows Phone 7 platform. In case you’re wondering what all the fuss is about, Mango was supposed to offer HTML5 support for Windows Phone 7 and now it’s been said that it will be done by deploying IE Mobile 9. Current WP7 devices are using a version of IE Mobile, known as IE Mobile 7, and it’s a version of IE 7 that features some improvements seen in IE8. If this turns out to be accurate, Mango will be running a mobile version of IE9, Microsoft’s latest HTML5-compliant browser that is expected to be released this spring. Will the presence of IE9 help WP7 get one over its competitors such as iOS and Android?
