The cat is finally out of the bag. The Samsung Galaxy S 4G (or Vibrant 4G as we’ve come to call it) has been officially announced by T-Mobile and Samsung. The Galaxy S 4G will be T-Mobile’s first smartphone capable of accessing their HSPA+ 21Mbps network. The phone is pretty much just like the previous Galaxy S phone on their network – the Vibrant. No official specs have been leaked, but from what we know so far – it will ship with Android 2.2 (Froyo), pack a front facing camera, a 4″ Super AMOLED touch screen, a 1GHz processor, 16GB of internal memory, and a 5 megapixel camera capable of recording 720p HD videos. Nothing out of the ordinary or flashy enough to make people turn their heads but it will be the fastest phone on T-Mobile’s network, so that in itself should be enough to warrant some sales. Let’s hope T-Mobile makes more of an impact with their other phones. No pricing details or availability dates, but expect more to be revealed in the coming weeks.
