It’s sad to often see that some devices don’t fully utilize the hardware that is under the hood. While NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 chip is fully capable of decoding 1080p content, it turns out that Motorola’s hotly anticipated Atrix 4G will not offer 1080p video decoding right off the bat. While there’s no denying that the hardware capability is there, Motorola’s Atrix 4G fact sheet has been released and it confirms that 1080p video support will be released via a software upgrade post-launch. Of course, the good news is that 1080p support is on the way, though you can bet that some folks will be worrying if there will be any delay in the update, since 1080p video support is a pretty hot feature at this point.
