Samsung is the #1 Android handset maker in the US

If you’re an Android phone manufacturer aiming to be number one, you should know that Samsung is now the company to beat. It has been reported that Samsung now owns 32.1% of the Android market share- a huge leap from the 9.2% share they had back in Q4 2009. Considering how they used to be focused on Windows Mobile, it shows that they’ve managed to successfully adapt to keep up with the times. Android has clearly let Samsung focus on what they do best- build hardware. Instead of creating 150+ different phones a year, Samsung have shifted their priorities to focus on crafting just a handful of phones that wow consumers each year. Most notably was their Galaxy S phone this year which they managed to customize to meet the needs of each carrier they sold the phone on. Although Samsung will be slowing down their Android phone production, it doesn’t look like they’ll be slowing down anytime soon. How many of you contributed to the figures for Samsung’s Android market share?
