Paramount has just struck a deal with Microsoft to release 10 movies for Windows Phone 7 devices. The movies that are created using Silverlight, will contain all sorts of supplements that you would find on a movie DVD and interactive extras. Movies mentioned in the initial line up are: School of Rock, Zoolander, Waiting for Superman, and GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra. The plans are exclusive for the US and Canada at the moment, but hopefully it makes it out to the rest of the world as well. Prices haven’t been announced, but we should see the movie apps in the Windows Marketplace soon. Though with only 8GB-16GB of storage on WP7 devices, I don’t think many people will be storing movies on their phones. Would you be interested in purchasing movie apps for your phone?
