Motorola Droid to receive an update this December

Published

Looks like Motorola Droid owners will be getting an early Christmas present from Verizon. For those of you who are using the original Droid phone on Big Red and are in the test group, you should be receiving an update sometime soon. In addition to the usual bug fixes, the update brings your phone up to Android 2.2.1 (FRG83D) and enhances some of your apps and widgets such as Twitter, Amazon, News & Weather, Exchange ActiveSync and Gmail. Once Verizon gets the greenlight from the test group, only will the update be rolled out to all the Droid users in the country. It’s good to see Verizon still pushing out updates for their older phones, when some companies can’t even get their latest phones up to current versions of Android.
