Microsoft pays developer fees ahead of schedule

Even more great news for Windows Phone 7 developers! After reporting that they have released app data to developers, Microsoft has announced that they will be sending out their developers’ pay checks ahead of schedule. For developers who submitted their apps in October, they will be receiving their cut of the sales in January instead of the previously promised February. And after January’s payouts, they will be giving out payments on a monthly basis instead for developers who meet the minimum payout threshold limits. In addition to a more frequent payment, ad-enabled apps using the XNA framework will now be allowed and the approval of the registration process to become a developer has been shortened to two-days. It looks like Microsoft is really taking steps to ensure that they will have more developers on-board and on their side in the ongoing OS wars. These incentives should also draw more developers to their side. Now let’s see the Windows Marketplace explode.
