HTC is quietly planning its next move

Ever since HTC released the G2 and HD7, HTC has faded out of the limelight especially in the Android scene. But according to a recent report online, HTC is planning to ship 60 million smartphones next year. That’s three times the amount they sold this year. Talk about huge ambitions! Soon we’ll run out of people who don’t own a HTC phone. Jokes aside, this number is much higher than the previously reported number of 45-50 million handsets for next year. But if HTC pulls either figure off, they’re going to have a bright future. With their surge of WP7 sales only expected to happen in the 2nd half of next year, we can only sit and wonder about what they have planned in store for us for the beginning of the year. A tablet perhaps? With a phone as large as the Desire HD, it wouldn’t be surprising to see them make the leap to a bigger screen. Why do you think HTC has been keeping a low profile recently?
