Samsung to prioritize Windows Phone 7 over Android in 2011

Samsung, the South Korean manufacturer of the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S, has been reported to switch priorities for the upcoming year. Samsung will be introducing 15 to 20 new smartphones using Windows Phone 7, Android and Bada next year, but for every 50 WP7 phones the manufacturer makes, it will only make 24 Android and 5 Bada phones. Reasons for this move are due to the fact that the market will be oversaturated with Android devices from other manufacturers as well, while the Windows Phone 7 platform is only starting to grow- so it should be emphasized instead. If that’s the case, it’s strange to see Samsung not pushing its own operating system. If Samsung only wants to manufacture 5 Bada phones for every 50 WP7 phones, there’s no way it’s going to catch up, despite being out for a number of months longer. What do you think of Bada? Does it stand a chance against the other big boys in the mobile OS world?
