Return of the Microsoft Kin

Do our eyes deceive us or is the Kin coming back from the dead? Some folks online managed to get their hands on Verizon’s Q4 road map for this year and sure enough, the infamous Microsoft Kin is on the list of feature phones that will be arriving later this year. In case you didn’t know, Microsoft Kin was a phone released and canned in just a couple of months earlier this year. The phone was overpriced for what it did (which wasn’t much) – it required a data plan, which was way above the budget of its target markets- teens and young adults. The reason for Kin’s comeback is uncertain at the moment, it could be Microsoft trying to give the phone a second shot or a case of Verizon trying to clear its inventory. Either way, it’s interesting to see how the phone will do this time around as they won’t be sold with a data plan anymore. What do you think of Kin’s comeback? Does it deserve a second chance?
