Motorola Droid X rumored to be getting Android 2.2.1

Someone on My Droid World managed to get their hands on a picture of a Motorola Droid X running on Android 2.2.1. The latest update for Android has only been released for Google’s Nexus One phones so far, with no official changelog for it so there hasn’t been any confirmation on what the update does. Besides disabling WiFi and root access for some people, and the inclusion of updated Google Apps, it’s unclear what the update does. And to see the update on Motorola’s Droid X is a bit a surprising. Nevertheless, it is an update and we know how most folks love to have the latest software at all times. The photograph could have been faked (why anyone would do that is strange), so don’t get your hopes up. We might or might not see this update. With Gingerbread just around the corner, I doubt Motorola will be releasing a new Froyo update. What do you guys think?
