Motorola Droid Pro is not so “global” after all

The Motorola Droid Pro that is being sold by Verizon is not so “global” after all. While it is being marketed as a phone that can be used all over the world, including those on GSM networks, but while you’re in the States- you can only use it on Verizon’s network. The folks over at Android Central tried to get the phone working on AT&T and T-Mobile, and have discovered that the phone has been locked out to prevent usage with AT&T and T-Mobile, despite the phone’s specs touted to support the 850MHz and 1900MHz GSM frequencies that AT&T use. It is uncertain whether those frequencies are unlocked when in other countries but one thing is for certain, if you’re planning to purchase the phone here to use it on another network, it’s not going to be possible (at least for the time being).
