Motorola DEFY expected to receive FroYo … next year

Good news! Motorola has just announced that their DEFY Android phone will be receiving the Android 2.2 update. The bad news? It won’t be available until the second quarter of next year. Before you throw that phone out in frustration (it probably won’t break anyway), just know that it will take even longer to reach us stateside (because of carrier adjustments and approval of the update before it is publicly released) – now you can throw your phone at your wall. Most of you (me included) are probably wondering why is does Motorola even bother? With Android 2.3 rumored to be released at the end of the year or beginning of next year, and the following version of Android in Q2 of 2011 as well, Android 2.2 being released at that date will be one to possibly two versions late! Well, like they say- better late than never. At least it is getting an update after all. Though you probably would’ve rooted and upgraded the phone yourself. Maybe the phone, like wasn’t meant to get an upgrade past its initial release anyway, what do you think?
