AT&T advises customers not to install SD cards to the Samsung Focus

At yesterday’s Windows Phone 7 launch, customers who bought the Samsung Focus from AT&T’s stores were advised by sales reps not to install any memory cards to the device. Apparently the sales reps had received an email about Microsoft having a problem they need to fix with the phone, but there were no specifics about what they were fixing or when they will be done. However, some people have ignored this warning and went on to install new memory cards successfully. Maybe it was a ploy to sell “WP7-certified memory cards” by stalling consumers from inserting their own SD cards until the cards become available for sale. Either way, there haven’t been any horrible results reported yet, and the WP7-certified cards are nowhere to be seen, so it should be safe to install a new memory card and perform a hard reset, but as usual- make sure you know what you are doing before attempting it. How many of you have popped in a new SD card to your Samsung Focus?
