Motorola DEFY spotted in the wild

The DEFY is powered by Android 2.1

Despite being officially announced for sometime now, and being released in just a few days, T-Mobile/Motorola have managed to keep this phone under wraps- until now. Some photographs of the phone have finally surfaced onto the internet. Eschewing the looks of a construction-site safe walkie-talkie and looking like a regular touchscreen phone encased in a protective bumper instead, the phone sure is pretty despite its tough exterior. This rugged Android phone is targeted at those who require phones that can suffer punishment (by having butterfingers or just work in places like construction sites and workshops). It is IP67 cerified- meaning that it is both dust and waterproof. With a touchscreen that’s protected by Gorilla Glass, you know this phone can take a beating. The Motorola DEFY ships with Android 2.1 (you can’t expect a phone to have everything right?) but let’s hope Motorola has a Froyo update for it soon. The phone will cost you $100 with a 2 year T-Mobile contract, and will hit the stores November 3. Will you be getting your hands on the DEFY?
