LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition Revealed

It looks like the smartwatch arena is about to get all the more interesting, what with the reveal of the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. Do bear in mind that the LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition happens to be the very first member of the Android Wear family which will boast of cellular connectivity, now how about that? This means this is a standalone device, and can run without a compatible Android or iOS device paired to it.

Chances are you will still pair this bad boy up with a smartphone somewhere, simply because it does offer you many more options when it comes to performance, but at least you can now wear and use it without toting a smartphone around. It can also be tethered through Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, depending on the situation at that point in time.

This is a water- and dust-tight smartwatch that will come in a hairline-etched stainless steel body and a hypoallergenic TPSiV elastomer band, sporting a pair of extra buttons on the right side that will assist the crown button in navigation. Other hardware specifications include a 1.38” P-OLED display at 480 x 480 pixels, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset, 768MB of LPDDR3 RAM, 4GB of internal memory and a 570mAh battery. [Press Release]
