Facebook Messenger Hits 700M Users Worldwide

Facebook Messenger for Android was certainly quite the hit, having hit a whopping 1 billion downloads ever since Facebook separated the Messenger feature as a standalone app last summer. In fact, at a Facebook investor meeting yesterday, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg was quoted by Re/Code that Facebook Messenger has now successfully achieved a whopping 700 million users worldwide, now how about that when it comes to making it big?

In March this year, Facebook Messenger had already laid claim to 600 million users, and if simple mathematics were to be taken into consideration, this would mean having added on another 100 million users in under three months. Do take note, however, that all of these are not necessarily active users, but rather, the total number of registered users instead.
