Android One Handsets In India Start To Receive The Lollipop Update

Published

It seems that the Android One program by Google over in India is about to make the jump to the Android Lollipop platform – which is something that just about everyone has been looking forward to for some time already. After all, over in the Philippines and Indonesia, many of the more affordable handsets there under the Android One program have already begun to ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop software right out of the box, so why not the same in India? All of your patient waiting and perseverance has paid off, it seems.

You might want to prepare yourself to bid Android 4.4 KitKat goodbye really soon, as according to Google’s Caesar Sengupta, the company has begun to roll out Lollipop to Android One phones in the world’s second most populous country. Right now, Lollipop is being pushed to a small number of handsets, but there are plans to increase the number of users as each week passes by, now how about that? No idea on whether it will be Android 5.0 Lollipop or Android 5.1 Lollipop that we are talking about here though.
