Google Gives Damaged Nexus 5 A Second Chance (Rumor)

Published

If you are a Nexus 5 owner, then here is some good news that will definitely leave a smile on your face, assuming whispers of it are true, that is. Until an official announcement is made by Google, then one ought to approach this matter with a pinch of salt. In a nutshell, it seems that there will be a new policy from Google that will enable owners of the Nexus 5 device to pick up a replacement if their existing Nexus 5 has suffered some form of damage – whether it is a shattered display from a drop, or if you sat on it over an awkward angle, it is said that Google will offer a free replacement. This will supposedly be valid for just one time only.

If this particular policy does sound familiar to seasoned smartphone owners out there, this is because such a policy has been in effect by both HTC and Motorola before, where damaged handsets are entitled to a one time replacement. There are limitations of course, so do take note of them before you start to toss the Nexus 5 into the air and play catch with it for fun.

What do you think of such a replacement policy, and do you think that there will be people who would abuse the system?
