Ever wondered just how far will the smartwatch industry go in terms of product life? It is not even a quarter since the LG G Watch was made available for retail purchase to the masses, and here we are with a report that claims there is a sequel in the pipeline – with the LG G Watch 2 being touted as a successor already.

The Korea Times claims that what LG has in store is a “serious game changer” where wearable technology is concerned, and it ought to make an appearance over at IFA 2014 in Berlin, Gemany. This particular report also claimed that an LG official shared on how LG has been “working on a September release for the new smartwatch alongside Google’s wearable platform. The IFA fair may be the venue to see the upgraded smartwatch.”

Additional details concerning this smartwatch remains to be seen, but who are we to say that this is not going to go up head to head against the iWatch, assuming Apple also hops on the smartwatch bandwagon?
