The next Huawei Honor smartphone might actually be known as the Huawei Honor 6, which is something that would certainly leave some of us scratching our heads – what then, is there to make of the missing Honor 4 and Honor 5? Well, traditionally speaking, Chinese tend to avoid the number 4 for superstitious reasons, due to it rhyming with “death”. As for skipping the number 5, there is a very good reason for that – the upcoming Huawei Honor (aka Huawei Mulan) intends to duke it out with the upcoming iPhone 6, and presumably, there would be a Samsung Galaxy S6 down the road as well.
This would allow the Huawei Mulan to continue from where the Honor 3X and Honor 3C left off. In the past, the Huawei Ascend P7 carried the codename of Huawei Sophia, so it is also nice to see a legendary Chinese folklore character make an appearance this time around for an upcoming Huawei handset.
