Ever wished that you could take a peek into where your mates are, or want to let the world know just exactly where you are at that moment in time? As the modern day adage goes, there’s an app for that, and Glympse is here to expand your horizons even more. Yes sir, there is a new Glympse for Kindle Fire as well as Windows Phone 8, offering users the ability to share with others using international phone numbers, not to mention gaining the ability to update a user’s location with the app itself running quietly in the background.

Darren Austin, vice president of product, Glympse, shared, “We have received thousands of emails and tweets from avid Glympse users who want to use all the great features of Glympse on their Windows Phone or their Kindle Fire tablet. Today’s announcement is a result of popular demand, and we are excited to enhance the experience for our loyal fans.”

This marks the first time Glympse has entered into the Amazon device ecosystem, where users end up with a dynamic, temporary way to share one’s location with others. Doing so is a snap, all you need to do is to pick the recipient via the phone number, email or social network, let them know how long you want your location to be made available, and hit send. The Windows Phone 8 version of the app will be made available in due time.
