South Korea Carrier To Launch LTE-A Before 2014 Is Over

Want to start a pity party of your own? That might be the case after you hear that a South Korean carrier has plans to introduce their very own LTE-A network before the year is over, where it will sport a connection that is capable of delivering a whopping 300Mbps. Of course, 300Mbps here is a theoretical figure as usual, whereas the real life performance of this mobile carrier would differ, depending on what is going on at the backend at that point in time. Not only that, just when you were feeling smug about your new 75Mbps LTE connection, along comes this 300Mbps whopper.

SK Telecom claims that 300Mbps is made possible with their version of LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) as it will fall back on a trio of distinct bands that combines a couple of 10 MHz bands as well as a solitary 20 MHz band to get the job done. Heck, 300Mbps is so fast that it would even put a fair number of broadband providers – imagine the kind of stuff you can do with your smartphone at such amazing speeds! Apart from that, SK Telecom is not quite done upping the ante, as they will showcase speeds of up to 450Mbps at MWC next month.
