[CES 2014] Ever wished that your modern day smartphone is not all that “soft”, and that it can handle all the rough rigors of life? A knock here, a drop there, or perhaps even a short trip down the wash basin. The Caterpillar Cat B100 is here to cater to those who happen to be butterfingers or simply do not have a good track record when it comes to making sure that the smartphone remains well protected against scratches and the like. The Caterpillar Cat B100 will come with IP67 certification while offering MIL 810G protection, which means it is 100% protected against dust with the ability to be able to “swim with the fishes”, so to speak, as long as it is no deeper than 3 feet.

As for the other hardware specifications of this feature phone, we are looking at a 2.2” 240 x 320 display, a custom operating system, a 3-megapixel shooter, and a microSD memory card slot. Already available in Europe, it will make its way to other markets before the first half of this year is over.
