HTC Might Focus On Android Exclusively (Rumor)

HTC has been churning out smartphones for as long as we can remember, and along the way, they have veered slightly off the beaten Android path by introducing Windows Phone handsets, although those are few and far in between. The latest rumors to make its rounds claim that HTC is looking to ditch the Windows Phone platform for good, and keep their laser sharp focus on Android exclusively.

This particular rumor came about from a Digitimes report which cited unnamed sources (as usual) that the extremely low sales volume as well as strong competition from their Finnish rivals, Nokia, where Windows Phone devices are concerned, has taken the wind out of HTC’s sails, and it has caused the higher management to mull over ditching the Windows Mobile platform for good, and concentrate solely on the Android mobile operating system instead. Do you think that this rumor is true, and assuming it is, will it be able to help HTC get out of the doldrums? They do, after all, seem to remain stuck between a rock and a hard place – and will be for some time to come. The HTC One has proven itself to be a solid piece of top notch hardware, but there is the public perception issue that HTC needs to win first.
