The Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A has been officially announced, and it is the first LTE-A smartphone in the world. On paper, one is said to be able to enjoy double the LTE speeds that one is capable of surfing on today. This is made possible thanks to the merging of different frequencies into one, which should allow you to experience a rather noticeable improvement whenever you fire up a game, download large files and applications, among others.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 LTE-A would be powered by a quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, carry a 5” Full HD Super AMOLED display at 441 PPI, runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, has a 13-megapixel shooter at the back and a 2-megapixel camera in front, 32GB of internal memory that can be augmented by a microSD memory card, as well as the usual slew of software features on the regular Galaxy S4 such as Group Play, Story Album, S Translator, Optical Reader, Samsung Smart Scroll, Samsung Smart Pause, Air Gesture, Air View, Samsung Hub, ChatON(Voice/Video Call, Share Screen, 3-way calling) and Samsung WatchON among others. There is no word on pricing at the moment, but it will arrive in Blue Arctic and Red Aurora colors first later this summer in Korea, with additional colors to hit the deck later on. [Press Release]
