Google Cloud Print App Is Now Official

I am quite sure that you have been wondering for the longest time now, how come Google did not release the Cloud Print app for the Android platform after all this while? Well, there is always a first time for everything, and we are pleased to announce that Google just rolled out a 1.9MB official Cloud Print app for Android.

Sure, Cloud Print has been around since the middle of 2010, which means it is a cloud based printer management system that was meant to play nice with Chrome and the (then) upcoming Chrome OS, where it performed with flying colors. How does it work? Well, it would forward print “jobs” using a web user interface, instead of a direct link to your printer. Needless to say, the printers would first need to be set up in Cloud Print, which is a simple thing to do. The moment it is registered, you are then able to print from wherever you want to, as it also paves the way for printer sharing – and with official Android support now, it is better than ever before.
