Samsung Galaxy S4’s Display Holds Its Own Against A Knife In Scratch Test

One of the more heart-wrenching moments when you drop your phone is seeing its display shatter, or pulling it out of your pocket to discover it has several scratches due to it being placed next to keys or coins. Now the good news is that if you were thinking of picking up the Samsung Galaxy S4, one owner has already put the phone’s display to the test by attempting to scratch it with knives, coins and keys, only to be unsuccessful and leaving the display pretty much unmarred. This is thanks to the use of Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 which according to Corning, is three times more scratch resistant compared to Gorilla Glass 2, which to be honest was pretty rugged to begin with. Obviously we don’t recommend you attempt to do this to your new phone when you get it, but at the same time we guess you can rest assured knowing that it should remain scratch free in your pocket or hand bag, and could even be a bonus to those who don’t believe in covering their phones in screen protectors or covers!
