Low-Budget iPhone Rumored To Launch Alongside iPhone 5S In July

There have been rumors of a low-cost iPhone making its way around the internet, and some believe that such a device will help Apple appeal to emerging markets where their competitors, such as Microsoft’s Windows Phone and Google’s Android, have the advantage with a wider range of affordable products. Whether such a device exists remains unknown, but according to Topeka Capital Markets’ analyst, Brian White, he believes that after speaking to suppliers and vendors, that Apple could be launching the alleged low-cost iPhone in July alongside the iPhone 5S.

July would seem to be an odd date considering that Apple, to date, has released its iPhones towards the later part of the year, a trend which was started with the iPhone 4S that missed its traditional mid-year launch. Then again with Apple launching the iPad mini and iPad 4 only 6 months after the iPad 3, shaking up the schedule would not be completely out of the question. In any case this report by White contradicts an earlier report by KGI Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, who believes that the iPhone 5S would miss the July launch due to alleged production problems. Take this with a grain of salt for now, and we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for additional details anyway.
