HTC And Nokia Patent Claim Dismissed By German Court

Published

HTC has had it pretty rough in the past few days, and thankfully, they are able to participate in a breather of sorts when a judge in the District Court of Mannheim, Germany, threw out a patent claim which had its focus on how an Android-powered smartphone accesses the Internet through the hugely popular Google Play Store.

Nokia served up this lawsuit in Germany, targeting Google’s Android platform actually with HTC being in the way since it is the motor that burns the proverbial fuel, so to speak. It seems that Nokia claims the way content is delivered to the end user via Google Play servers was originally thought up of by those over at Nokia, or at least via an affiliated company. All’s well that ends well, no?
