Samsung And Apple Get Retrial For 14 Devices

Samsung managed to receive a reduction when it comes to the $1.05 billion worth of damages that they were supposed to fork out to Apple last year, as Judge Lucy Koh who overlooked the entire trial asked for a re-evaluation of the $450.5 million of the initial damages which were awarded to Apple, where a new trial is set to happen with a new jury in place, too.

There will be 14 Samsung devices involved in the new trial, where their per-product damages from the first trial were discovered to be of questionable nature, and among them will be the Samsung Nexus S 4G, Infuse 4G, AT&T Galaxy S2, and the Galaxy Tab. Depending on the outcome of the trial, the result could really swing both ways, so Samsung would hope that they would end up with lighter damages to pay, and Apple otherwise.
