Now here is an Asus tablet that will be different from the other Android-powered ones that we have seen in the past – simply because this puppy runs on an Intel 1.2GHz Z2420 processor, where it is accompanied by a PowerVR SGX540 graphics chipset. In order to make sure that everything is fine and confirmed, the folks over at the Global Certification Forum have also confirmed it.

The GCF, as it is called for short, has confirmed that the Asus Fonepad will feature 3G connectivity, with model number ME371MG, but bear in mind that it will miss out on LTE connectivity. Who knows? There might be another version in the works with LTE that has yet to be examined by the GCF. So far, hardware specifications of the Asus Fonepad is said to include a 7-inch IPS display at 1280 x 800 resolution, a 3-megapixel camera at the back and a 1.2-megapixel camera in front, 1GB RAM, a microSD memory card slot, and a choice of 8GB, 16GB or 32GB of internal memory.
