Symbian has proved to be a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the world of smartphones, but that was before the iPhone and full touchscreen smartphones came onto the scene and turned the entire market upside down. Well, it did not take too long for Nokia to arrive at the end of the road with the Symbian operating system, and it is official – the Nokia 808 PureView will be the final Symbian device to roll out from Nokia, and they have this to say about the situation.

During our transition to Windows Phone through 2012, we continued to ship devices based on Symbian. The Nokia 808 PureView, a device which showcases our imaging capabilities and which came to market in mid-2012, was the last Symbian device from Nokia.
