Microsoft has had this particular naming habit for their Windows Phone operating system, where it tends to end with the letter “o”. I guess everyone has their quirks, with Google taking the dessert route, while Apple plays with the big cats for their desktop and notebook operating systems. We have seen NoDo (7.x), Mango (7.5), Tango (7.5 Refresh) and Apollo (8.0) in the past, so the latest rumor to float around claims that Apollo+ is not going to jive, but rather, the next Windows Phone 8 operating system update would be known as Portico.
There are also whispers that this particular update will be announced at the Mobile World Congress event that is happening next February in Barcelona, where it will comprise of small patches, fixes and additions to the Windows Phone 8 platform. I guess patience is required by all parties at this point in time, as time will reveal all.
